What would you do if you were invisible?

Spend time together talking about what matters most. Transform the dinner table into the place where you have fun and memorable conversations that give everyone a sense of belonging. It's possible to teach your children the value of honesty, responsibility and compassion in just minutes a day with Conversation Starters that get your family talking about those important values. You will see how easy and fun teaching values can be.

In all the dizzybusy lifestyles families sometimes overlook simple ways to connect. It doesn't take fancy vacations and expensive things to take a moment to teach what is truly important. This product I discovered is able to create a dinner time connection for families. Pick a card, throw out the question or quote and go with it. Conversation is key to quality communication in all families. Take time to smell the roses so to speak. Enjoy your kids and listen to their thoughts. I warn you, you will be amazed at how many values you have already instilled in them as you converse amongst yourselves with the topic picked.

Raising children with values is not easy nor is it hard. It does take time and dedication to the cause. It is an everyday occurrence. Many people think it is best to teach the basics but I dare you to go the distance. Years from now as you sit at the end of a large table in front of the people you created, you will have peace. You will have peace in knowing that what is in your sights is a quality legacy you set in motion. What if it was as simple as the dinner table conversation afterall? What if it was Sunday strolls through the park? Many quality things you took part in set it all up to carry on a legacy of values for your family.

As a seed is first planted to create a beautiful flower so to are family traditions planted to create beautiful memories. Traditions within families that promote values instill a strong sense of that value for each person. If we don't have values what do we have? What is the meaning of values to you and your family? I look forward to my journey in helping families promote authentic and intentional relationships in their own families. I look forward to helping each family find a way that works for them. Pass a quality legacy on with a strong sense of values in your family.

Once Upon A Family
The Once Upon A Family website is an interesting and well-executed concept for a niche business that ingeniously addresses one of the pressing needs that most families have today: how to combine everyone's busy lifestyles with the desire to slow down and document family traditions and family values, with the help of various tools and products from the Internet.

The creator of the site, Tiffany, calls herself a “family traditions consultant”, and has structured Once Upon A Family into sections that correspond to various periods in a family's development, from young couples getting married and just starting out, to having children, all the way through to becoming grandparents.

Products offered on the site include everything from a 'marriage survival kit' and keepsakes for retired couples, to a baby hand prints book, a 'while I'm away' gift selection for couples separated by circumstances, and various attractive photo albums. Everything is tastefully presented, and the commercial aspect of the Once Upon A Family site is completely de-emphasized so that it feels much more like a website that a friend might create to feature family-related themes.

The site is built on Weebly, a blogging tool that is rapidly becoming more popular for people who are less interested in getting into the nuts and bolts of coding and simply want to create good-looking and functional sites such as Once Upon A Family. The general design of the photographs Tiffany taken has chosen is real high point of the site.

Tiffany has done a fine job on Once Upon A Family and I predict that she will see a big increase in visitors over time as people come looking for the kinds of family-related themes, keepsakes, mementos and gifts that she features. If you would like to refocus a little bit of your attention on the most important people in your life, I'd recommend taking a look at this attractive site.

Ok, today started out just like every other day. The kids and I went to a play today about 40 minutes away. Normally a very good experience at the theater, today was a bit different. As we sat in our seats waiting for the play to start, a school of children sat directly in front of us. We by all accounts were sitting waiting. The lights came down and it began. The teacher or aide right in front of me pulled out her phone and began to text someone. The bright screen caught my eye and I glanced down. Only to accidentally see her texting about me. Oh yeah, me. Keep in mind it was Giggle Giggle Quack for small kids. Keep in mind the baby is almost 2.  She said"UGH someone behind me brought a baby. Can you believe that? how not age appropriate......" I watched now having my full attention. All my clan was quiet and watching at this point. I placed my hand on her shoulder and said"I can see what you are writing and we homeschool". She stopped texting but was huffy. After the play I leaned forward and told her "It is nice to see your lack of values displayed, only reinforces why I homeschool."  I just couldn't believe the hostility from this gal. I wanted to drive it home that she is an example for those kids that she is with. That she should  for no reason do that. I know it may offend some out there and for that I am sorry. I am homeschooling my journey for my reasons and fully respect our school district. My oldest 2 are possibly going in the fall and that is great.  I hope it gave her pause to be a better person towards those that she doesn't know.  Well on our ride home I was not happy about that encounter. Then a stranger pulled along side flagging us to pull over. I thought do I or don't I. Horror movies gone wrong were replaying in my head instantly. But I did. Turns out I had a tire going flat. A very nice father of 4 noticed my tire and wanted to help me. We shared nice conversation and laughs along the side of the road. First I knew the spare was back there somewhere. LOL Next I couldn't find my hazards. LOL I went from a resourceful mother of 4 to a total damsel in distress in a matter of seconds. My tire got fixed, thanks to stranger Phil from Illinois. He followed us to our exit to see us off safely. WOW!! God sent an amazing message today and my kids got to see it all. They saw humanity misbehaving unjustly and then a good samaritan helping when they could have ignored it all. WOW!! That word just says it all.

Sitting at the supper table tonight looking around at all the giggling and chatter I felt blessed. Hearing all the funny jokes between siblings made me feel like "yeah, we did it we are a connected family." But how did we get here? I think about families who may not take the time to connect on a daily basis. I don't know why I wander in thought at pleasant times in my own home but I do. I guess I am a problem solver by nature and always hope to help others as much as I can. I love to travel the path less traveled to see what it may offer to my life. So far no disappointments with that method either.  Is your family connected like it should be? What could you change to make connections happen?  Take a moment and embrace your blessings. Recognize the gifts in your life and how they got there. Life is a journey and make sure you are enjoying the adventure.
